In February 2022, Essex County Council's Data and Analytics service undertook analysis into gender inequalities in Essex. This work looks into inequalities within: Education Income & Employment Built Environment (Household environments and fuel poverty) Health The analysis shows that within Essex, greater inequality is experienced by women within all aspects of life. This analysis evaluates the quality of housing for elderly residents split by tenure type: Owner-occupancy, Private renting, and social renting. Principally, housing quality is assessed in terms of the size, type, and age of the properties. Additionally, housing quality is evaluated in terms of the energy efficiency ratings of individual aspects of a dwelling, as well as the overall EPC rating.
