Sector Development Strategy Evidence Base

In May 2022, Essex County Council published a Sector Development Strategy that seeks to support the growth of businesses within five growth sectors across the county. These growth sectors are:

• Advanced Manufacturing
• Construction
• Digitech
• Energy
• Medtech (Life Sciences)

To support the realisation of this strategy, the Analytics and Data Science team have compiled the following evidence base. This has been split into three key areas of focus:

• GVA and Productivity
• Employment and Skills
• Climate

Sitting alongside this, the team have also produced an interactive dashboard, found on the Essex Open Data website.
