Severe depression
People aged 65 and over predicted to have severe depression, by age, projected to 2035
Figures are taken from McDougall et al, Prevalence of depression in older people in England and Wales: the MRC CFA Study in Psychological Medicine, 2007, 37, 1787–1795.
The prevalence rates have been applied to ONS population projections of the 65 and over population to give estimated numbers predicted to have severe depression, to 2035.
