Report from the strategic partnership between Essex County Council and Barnardo’s
Challenges facing the children’s care sector include the lack of suitable and well located places for young people who come into care. Essex County Council sought to work with a partner who had experience of the children’s care sector and that shared the same values and beliefs when it comes to improving the lives of those young people.
That partnership was formed with the national charity Barnardo’s, and together we have co-created a new model of residential group care with and for young people and wider stakeholders in Essex. That model of residential care is detailed in the following report.
